 Artificial intelligence or AI is intelligence demonstrated by machines, AI applications include advanced web search engines e.g., google, recommendation system (used by YouTube, amazon and netflix),  understanding Human Speech (such as siri and alexa), Self-Driving Car (e.g., tesla)

One of the first AI, or "automatons," ever made was a mechanical duck, created by French inventor Jacques de Vaucanson in 1738. The duck could eat corn, drink water, flap its wings, and quack.

 robot might most accurately be defined as an machine that can be programmed to carry out complex tasks autonomously. Most robot used in manufacturing today are robotic arms programmed to complete tasks like arc welding, material handling, painting, packaging, and so forth
Nowadays many companies are shifting to AI/Robots as they don't need to pay them 

AI is a machine that behaves in ways that would be called intelligence if it was human were so behaving

Now AI can even generate and make things online like filling color in photo, removing any abject from photo, chatting and many more stuff
Good things about AI/Robot is that it won't betray you your every possible command will be followed by them you can trust them,
and the bad thing is they won't do anything extra until said to and can be hacked by any professional 
Now in INDIA also we have some restaurants serviced by robots and many companies who use robotic call answering service
